Media Excel Production boss, Kwasi Ernest has confessed he was dismissed for refusing to honour invitations to attend meetings by the CEO of the Africa Gospel Awards Festival [AGAFEST].
The manager of Francis Agyei revealed he was part of the first board when the award scheme was launched in 2018.
“When AGAFEST was established, some of us were members until one morning some of us were sacked as board members when we didn’t come to meetings. The award scheme is good.” Kwasi Ernest confessed to the host of Christian Entertainment Review Show on GN TV, Nii Noi.
Kwasi Ernest praised the new board members for their great deal of effort in making gospel music gain recognition.
Nominees were selected across 4 African countries namely Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. Joe Mettle from Ghana topped with 10 nominations, closely followed by the ‘Nara’ hitmaker Tim Godfrey with 8 nominations. Dr. Tumi from South Africa came third with 6 nominations. In all Ghana had 79 nominations while Nigeria again tailed with 75.
