FRED KYEI MENSAH WRITES: Joe Mettle holds successful Wind of Revival Concert

Joe Mettle 1

Contrary to the notion that Gospel Music Concerts are not patronized because of organizational challenges, logistics, different Christian religious doctrines, venues, sponsorship, etc, if well planned like the one I witnessed today, patronage can be good.

ATTENDANCE

It was well patronized. Patrons with VIP tickets were treated with gifts. The house was full. Security was top notch. Almost everyone was screened before entry. A lot of celebrities and top Gospel acts, graced the occasion.

STAGE, LIGHTING, LED

It was so on point with little or minor hitches. Coordination was good with every screen working.

SOUND, PERFORMANCES AND GENERAL OBSERVATION.

The sound was good though occasionally the sound engineer forgot to open the front of the house speakers.
The performances started around 5.25 pm with Kyei Mensah doing the opening act followed by Carl Clottey and Isaac Ackah, the son of the late Jewel Ackah. Then came Qwesi Oteng and Ceecy Twum. They did well.

Joe Mettle didn’t disappoint at all. For about an hour, he and his talented instrumentalists wowed the audience with songs after songs. Gospel Music normally flows with worship songs and you can trust Joe Mettle, the only Gospel Artiste to have won the VGMA artiste of the year which is the coveted one. He invited his visiting Gospel musician friend, Jonathan Nelson from the USA who spread the holy spirit with his soothing voice to the admiration of the audience.

KODA added spice on the show with his vintage performance. He did so well. The show closed around 10.15 pm with another set of performances from Joe Mettle.

CONCLUSION
Joe Mettle made a fervent appeal about how Gospel Musicians suffer to get sponsorships for such programs and his concert virtually had no “major sponsors”. Because of doctrinal differences, it is very hard for “Christians ” to help themselves. Congrats to all hustling Gospel Musicians who struggles to put up their own concerts. See you in the next edition.
