The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts has today, signed an MoU with a Chinese construction firm, CBITEC for the construction of an ultra-modern conference center and a theatre in Kumasi.

The event was witnessed by the Minister of Tourism Culture, Creative Arts Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, Kumasi Mayor, Oforikrom MCE, Hon Gloria Temmah Gambrah, Otumfuo Anantahene Baffour Agyei Fosu Twitwiakwa, Creative Arts Council President Mark Okraku Mantey, Film Producers Association of Ghana President Mr. James Aboagye, Ashanti Regional Chairman of Musiga Madam Augustina Addison, and other senior media practitioners.
Speaking after signing of the memorandum of the understanding, Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Minister Mrs. Oteng Gyasi disclosed that, the time has come for the Ashanti Region to get it to share from the ministry.
According to her after the conclusion of documents, the finance ministry will give clearance to the investors to commence work at the site.

She said the edifice when completed will serve us another hub for the creative arts industry.
She further disclosed that, the government is also working hard to change the face of the Bonwire Kente wearing industry.
Hon. Oteng Gyasi revealed that , the documentation and the commencement of work will last for two years

On his part, The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive Hon. Osei Assibay Antwi expressed his utmost gratitude to the Asantehene Otumfou Osei Tutu II for leasing such a vast land for such an important project.











She said, the edifice will be located close to Golden Tulip Hotel ”The assembly fully supports this project because it is coming to boost the city’s economy and also create more jobs for the people of Ashanti” he added
