”There’s No Unity in the Gospel Music Industry” – Carl Clottey

Gospel recording artiste Carl Clottey has bemoaned the lack of genuine support and unity in the Gospel music industry. Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on HitzFm with Animwaa Addo, the ‘Aforeb)’ hit maker explained that there’s unnecessary competition in the industry which he believes is not healthy for its growth.

‘You feel alone when you start. There’s no one to help you especially when you are coming up. There’s not a lot of help that comes your way. I am grateful for the people that have come my way; some very big industry people like Nii Noi and the likes… but the unity is not there. Everybody is looking out for themselves…For the most part if you know your purpose and you know why you are called, you will do what you can and also support,’ Carl Clottey noted.

He added, ‘it is difficult for someone to click the share button on a fellow Gospel artiste’s song but in Nigeria you’ll see Ps. Nathaniel Bassey sharing artistes that we don’t know, putting them on his main Instagram page. For someone to even repost your stuff,  it’s difficult because they think you are about to take their fans. These are the truths in our industry.’

Carl Clottey is the founder of Carl Clottey Ministries. He has a number hit singles to his credit including ‘One and Only,’ ‘D33d3w,’ and his latest ‘Ngbooda’ which features Gospel rap artiste Belac360.

I Don’t Have Competitors In The Industry, Only ‘Complementors’ – Akesse Brempong

Gospel Reggae & Afrobeat bellwether, Evans Akesse Brempong, widely known by his stage name Akesse Brempong has dissolved the idea of having any competitor in the Ghanaian music industry.

In an interview on Starr FM’s mid-morning show, The Zone with Maame Animwaa, she questioned him on the fact that he’s surrounded with a lot of competition and hence, should state who he sees to be his competition in the industry.

‘The Lion’ Akesse Brempong in response dispelled the onset of any competition in the rigorous industry as opposed to the popular school of thought.

He confidently stated, “I see other people in the industry as ‘complimentors’ not competitors, especially in the Gospel music industry. There are people I can reach that others might not be able to reach and there are people that they can reach that I can’t”.

His statement aligns with the belief that followers of Christ are members of one body and the only friction within should be when two believers sharpen each other.

The ‘Lion’ is out with spanking new audiovisual titled ‘Yahweh (Song of Moses)’ which features another heavyweight in the Gospel fraternity, MOGmusic.

Akesse Brempong has since been in the trends on Twitter following its release with various fans and music lovers alike, complimenting the world-class quality production, biblical lyrical references, vocal dexterity and overall excellence and spiritual edification that the song oozes out to listeners and viewers.

According to Akesse, the name “Yahweh” was first revealed to the prophet Moses. “God revealed himself as El Shadai to the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob), but when he met Moses, God revealed himself as Yahweh. Moses was a worshipper and because he met God face to face and Yahweh was birthed to him. For the name, Yahweh has the sense of intimacy attached to it”
